Domestic Violence Inventory Pre-Post

The DVI Pre-Post measures domestic violence counseling / treatment effectiveness or outcome. The same test is administered in English or Spanish at pretest (intake) and at posttest (after counseling/ treatment). Since the same test is administered twice, history (court and treatment) is kept to a minimum. The client's time referent is "here-and-now" or last 30 days. The pretest (intake) becomes the baseline that posttests results are compared to. Computer software compares pretest (intake) scores with posttest (after treatment scores) and prints a "Comparison Report." The Domestic Violence Inventory Pre-Post consists of 147 items and takes thirty (30) minutes to complete. The Domestic Violence Inventory Pre-Post has six (6) scales (measures) which include:

  • Truthfulness Scale
  • Violence Scale
  • Control Scale
  • Alcohol Scale
  • Drugs Scale
  • Stress Coping Abilities

Although the Domestic Violence Inventory Pre-Post is computer scored, most evaluators use paper-pencil test booklets and answer sheets. Test administration does not tie up their computer and enables evaluators to test individually or in groups. Then at the evaluators convenience he/she can input the answers into the computer for scoring. From data input the test is scored, interpreted and the Comparison Report is printed within 2 ½ minutes.
